Blood Sugar Workout Magic

I've never had a blood-sugar crash, but I have now. I've been working out with a personal trainer, for almost 3 weeks now, lst night was my 5th session. The trainer pushes me to go a little further each time, and last night I guess I hit my limit. About 45 minutes into the work-out I was kneeling on a pad, doing an arm/chest/shoulder exercise, and I began to feel queasy. This isn't something totally new, I used to feel queasy all the time when I rode my bike long distances. I pushed myself to make it through the exercise, despite the feeling and I finished the last one and that's really all I remember. The next thing I know I'm on the ground, with the trainer standing over me. I sit up and and now I feel REALLY SICK and DIZZY. The trainer tells me I've had a blood sugar crash. He makes me eat some glucose tablets and magically I feel better, though I was still a little shaky. He tells me that we are done for the day, which kinda sucks cause I only worked out for 45 minutes instead of an hour, but I guess that was probably enough for one day. I mean I did pass out.
From now on, I'll make sure and eat some Carbs before I go to workout.

I'm hypoglycemic and if I don't eat small meals throughout the day, the same thing happens to me. It's scary.

BROTHER! be careful. that is scary....

The trainer said it was bound to happen sooner or later. The whole point really is to learn to push myself further than I was doing on my own. Mission accomplised. :) Whew that was like a bad hangover though. Stupid body chemistry....

Drink a Coke or some juice or Gatorade on the way to the trainer. Come to think of it, you could get some pink grapefruit gelato at Paciugo first!

With me, first it starts with me being a little confused or dense and getting much more quiet than usual. Then I get ravenously hungry really quickly, and then really really shaky. That's about as far as it's ever gotten with me.

Might I suggest Power Bar Harvest Grain bars? They're actually pretty good, as opposed to every other brand of energy bar, and work great before a workout.

I feel your pain man! There was a day whence i worked out with my trainer and I didn't eat or drink anything in hours before-hand. I didn't pass out, but I felt sick as hell, but once i got some food and drink in me i felt much better. Are you at least feeling accomplished and stonger? I do, I still don't have shit for energy though. I think I NEED 12 hours of sleep a day. that's the only time i really feel refreshed.

See ya saturday.

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
