Shit or Go Blind

I'm back home now and it looks like I don't have to go back for a while. Whew! Here's a good corporate story for ya. I was in a meeting this past week with some corporate execs from my company and networking sub-contractor that we want to team up with us on a proposal. The contractor was going back and forth on how much of the job they wanted with the execs. Basically, they only want to team up with us if they get a Lion's share of the work. Understandable I guess. All of a sudden the VP chimes in and says " Sounds like you guys need to decide whether you want to shit or go blind." I would've bust out laughing but I was so stunned that he said it. The contractor thought it was funny. What the heck does that phrase mean anyway? In other news Cheney Drops the F-Bomb.

Sounds like you have a VP from Arkansas. Strange sayings run rampant here. My dads favorite is 'Crazier then a shit house rat.' Closely followed by 'A wall you can't cuss a cat through.' Seriously, he says these things.

Im surprised you haven't heard the 'shit or go blind' before. I've heard it once or twice in Oklahoma. Usually to describe a situation of consternated indecision. Like when the girl I last heard say it say her blind date through the window and realized he had a mullet, not all his teeth, was wearing mismatched shoes, and covered in dirt as if he had been working in a ditch for 3 days with no shower. She saw him and did not know if she should 'shit or go blind.'

"a wall you can't cuss a cat through"? could i have a definition? could you use it in a sentence?
the rev. told me about that cheney thing the morning he saw it on cnn. we were both thoroughly amused.

It's a hic building term...you know if they did a good job on something then 'that's a wall you can't cuss a cat through.'

I do know what "shit or go blind" means, I was just wondering where that phrase came from. It seems like a pretty absurd choice if you ask me.

Helpful hint for today - if you want to find out where the phrase "shit or go blind" came from or anything about it, don't Google it, because the third thing that comes up is mind-boggling in its grotesqueness.

Chaney is such a potty mouth.

A month or so Kerry gave a guy the finger.

Man politician behavior looks like it is going to start going down hill.

Has anyone seen video of I think, Japaneese politicians beating the hell out of each other?

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
