I can't belive more people didn't comment on the History of D&D. I thought it was fascinating, though I am a huge uber-geek in that area.
I watched Kill Bill 2 last night, quite a few people told it it was better than the first one, which I thought was rather long and boring. Sad to say I like this one even less. It's a very "quaint" homage to Martial Arts movies but as a movie in and of itself it's kinda long and boring. The second one didn't even have any good fight scenes and the final Battle with Bill was a real let down. I mean really, here we had 4 hours of build-up and she just punches him in the chest? *sigh*
Now Hero, which comes out next friday looks to be an exquisite martial arts movie. I will definitely be seeing it.
In gaming news, Dawn of War, the Warhammer 40K RTS game is now in an open beta. It say the Beta is closed but I applied for a code and got one so It's not really closed yet. You can sign-up here.
And last but not least NeverWinter Nights 2! Oh yeah....
you should probably put some warning up there about a Kill Bill 2 spoiler. I hadn't seen it yet, and now that I know how it ends, what's the point...
oh, common now, who are we kidding, I probably never will see the movie, unless it just happened to be on, when i'm incapable of changing the channal or getting up from the couch.
Yeah, reavealing the ending is kinda my way of saying its not worth watching in the first place.
we didn't comment on the d&d thing cuz no one wanted to be perceived as that big a geek.
i think.
but i grooved on D&D. sometimes for weekends at a time. without chemicals yet!

oh, and by the em effing way...
'just punches him in the chest' seems a bit of an understatement for the five-fingered-exploding-heart thingy.
you're completely missing the points:
- that the old fuck taught her the move and likely swore her to secrecy.
- means that he prolly knew she would one day need to use it against bill.
- that she suffered somewhat grievous wounds whilst running the gauntlet to get to bill
- means that there was some tacit agreement that it was to be used against bill and ONLY against bill.
- else she could have simply 'punched everyone else in the chest' and left with the baby.
other than daryl hannah getting away with poisoning the old fuck, i liked KB2 alot more than the first one, which was just too overdone with the blood-spatters - especially in the animated sequences.
so gth mr. dissaffected non-movie-fan. you just didn't get it. putz.

and did anyone else notice the similarity to the 'quivering palm' attack that a 15th level monk could do in D&D?
monks were my favorite character class, but i never managed to keep one alive past 10th level.
my DM was cruel that way.
I got all that. I was under-exaggerating. It's a writing technique......:P
sarcasm and self deprecation are one thing.
alright. they're two things.
under-exxageration quite another. [one thing]
you may have under-exxagerated the coolness of certain scenes, but i suspect you still didn't like it, which you're entitled to do of course, but i can't quite understand why.
i thought kb2 was better than kb1, for reasons already mentioned. but i actually enjoyed both films. alot.
and not just because i'm some blind adherent to all things tarantino. in case you were wondering.

Yeah, well NO FUCKING WONDER no one commented.
Well I guess I could talk aboutmy pets, make-up, and how drunk I am but I wouldn't want to take anything away from ya. =:D
oooooo.
the constant bickering.
the mean-ness.
groovy.
