Ding Dong the Wicked Witch is Dead

Geez I stop watching the news for a few days and all kinds of stuff happens. Attorney Generals are never popular figures, but Ashcroft was more than a little weird. I wonder who else will resign. I had heard that Tom Ridge and Colin Powell were both considering moving on after the elections but now they are saying Condoleeza Rice may resign. The Commerce secretray was pretty obvious, when the whole country says your economic policies suck its time for a new commerce chief.

I'd forgotten about that. Well the Lame Duck should be doing some interesting things now that he isn't thinking about whether he could get elected by popular vote anymore. I wonder if he's going to go all religious right or moderate it out?

off topic, i saw you were reading invisible monsters now. i started that one a few months ago and didn't get into it, then ended up losing it for a few days and not picking it back up once i found it. you'll have to tell me what you thought.

The word now is that Rumsfeld is likely to stay in. Alberto Gonzalez was looking pretty confirmable, but now some abortion issues may rock his boat. The word on Condi is that she may be in line to replace Powell as Secretary of State. The other weird rumor on her is that she might be the next commissioner of the NFL???? Tom Ridge is almost definitely on his way out. He has given overt indications that he is ready to step down. In reference to bunny's comment, my opinion is that he will use his mandate and political captial to push through some key conservative initiatives, but that overall he will remain relatively moderate

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
