Phlome and Ninsianna are offline

In case you are wondering, Phlome and Ninsi's blogs are down for the time being. Our collective web-hoster said that Phlome's blog was consuming all the CPU resources on the server so they suspended his account. I find that hard to believe. Even if it was why didn't they just kill the process rather than let it run rampant. Right now Phlome doesn't even have access to his site. I suspect he'll be back up shortly on a new website. Our webhost, Hostdime, sucks by the way. As soon as I get the time I'll be moving to a new host as well.

"Hostdime" sounds suspiciously like "Hostdime. This host ain't worth a dime!" Seems to be a common problem.

I was wondering where they went.

All the CPU resources on the server? That's like, powered by gerbils?

Yes, they said that MT.cgi was using a constant 25% CPU resources and spiked above. This constituted a violation of the ToS, so my account was suspended without any sort of notification. They also said it caused the server to crash, and they lost three clients. That would be the funny bit.

So basically, they screwed up, lost 3 customers, and have thus decided it was your fault. I mean really, shouldn't they have taken some kind of action BEFORE they lost 3 customers?

I wanna know what was eating up all the bandwidth. Or was that just a load of hooey?

I've been with this service for the past year or so. They've been good for me. I'm even thinking of putting up another site on thier service.

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
