Weekend Update

Well this weekend was action packed! Halo and his wife came down for he weekend. Friday we went out to Dinner with the Phlome, Ninisi, and Demi. For a change we went to Cheese Cake Factory instead of out favorite German Place. Speciality Dirty Martinis and Cheesecake are never a bad choice. Saturday we saw Phantom of the Opera, the musical, not the movie. It was good as always but they seemed to be having sound issues. Afterwards we hung out at Cru, which is still one of my all time favorite places to hang out. Not really a Bar but not really a restraunt either. It follows the wine-bar theme where you can order flights of wine and appetizers. YUM!

Sunday we went to Scarborough Faire. Giant Turkey Legs and Mead! Though the Mead was pretty bad this year. Apparently, Opening Day on Saturday was a huge hit. Lot's of the vendors were out of stock on some of thier items by Sunday Afternoon. The special "Apple Cider" was sold out in less than 2 hours. Elanna and I took the plunge and both some medival garb. I bought a poofy shirt, pants, bracers, a belt, a belt strap, and a tankard (very necessary) I still need boots, a belt pouch, jerkin and possibly a sword to complete my outfit. Those will probably have to wait till next year though or maybe Dragoncon.

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
