I wrote before about the discontinuation of Dragon and Dungeon Magazine. When I arrived back from our cruise I had received both of the Final issues in the mail. Supposedly, it is continuing in some online form, but WOTC has yet to announce anything about it. I highly recommend picking up the last issue of Dragon if you are or ever were a fan of D&D, it has some great articles on the history of D&D and the magazine.
In other news, Elanna and I were somewhat accosted last night on our bike ride at White Rock Lake.
Elanna was climbing the one hill we include on our route, and some guy passed her very close.
She told him he was "too close", which I think responded with "What?"
She said " You passed me too close." He then proceeded to swear outrageously at her.
I was about 30 yards up from them at this point and I turned around and yelled "What's your problem?"
I swear this dude proceeds to throw some kind of adult temper tantrum.
He jumped off his bike, red faced, screamed some more obscenities at me, and told me to come over there and see what his problem was. According to Elanna he also threated to cut off parts of my anatomy, I didn't hear that part.
I believe I said something brilliant like "Whoah calm down."
He then proceeded to explain that he was too out of breath to inform her that he was going to pass to close.
Well maybe but he sure wasn't too out of breath to swear at both of us.
By this point Elanna was well past him, so I rode on as well leaving the dude to his tantrum.
Apparently, that was enough for him, he turned around and rode the other way.
When Ninsi and I were waiting for our Underground Seattle tour to start, there was a dude that was walking along just randomly swear and punching the air. Uppercutting it, more precisely. He also punched at least one parked car. Ninsi thought I had said something to him because (she was coming out of a store) she said he gave me real nasty looks as he went behind me. I was steadfastly ignoring him, because I had already determined at even making direct eye contact would provoke him.
The guy totally walked up behind Phlome and did the rooster like mock chest thrust thing like you sometimes see two dudes doing when they're acting like they're about to fight.
