Spring Blizzard

This past weekend we made yet another trip back to Oklahoma. (One more to go next month.) This time it was for Aiden's 2nd Birthday. They weather forecast was for snow, but we didn't really believe that. Snow in March, sure sure..... Wow were we wrong. We woke up Saturday to a nearly blinding snowstorm. We drove from Nikki's sister's house in Broken Arrow over to around Harvard and 244 to pick up the cake. The roads weren't bad but the visibility was poor. In the time it took to go in and get the cake about 3 inches of snow built up on the car. We made it out to Owasso before it got too bad. Unfortunately it did get a lot worse and Nikki had to miss the wedding shower she had planned on going to. The snow slacked up after a while though and almost everyone made it to Aiden's birthday. The snow did not last long of course, the roads were clear by the time we drove back to Tulsa that evening and it all melted by noon on Sunday.

Here's some phone-cam pics I took.

In other news, Aiden has finally settled on names for Nikki and I. I'm "Bubba" and Nikki is either "Nik" or "Neek." Our real names being a little hard for a 2 year old to say.

Also I've given up on the whole using nicknames on the blog thing. If you are one of the 10 people that read this site you know who we all are anyway.

Reading

I just finshed Codelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold which is the first book of the Vorkosigan Saga.
Very good book, but the Sci-Fi bits are really secondary to the story.

Right now I'm reading The Lost Fleet Series by John Hemry/Jack Campbell It's sorta Honor Harrington but not really, though Honor Harrington even goes downhill in the later novels.
