Character Stories
Solomon
Solomon had been a little diffrent all his life. His earliest memory is seeing that he was badly burnt and that his legs were broken and a man clearing the rubble away from him. The man mended his broken legs saying something about how Solomon had the gift and he would help him. Solomon learned that the man was of a group called the Quasitor and he took him to a tribunal of the Order of Hermes to see if someone would aprentice him, and as soon as both of them walked into the room where the tribunal was being held, some man stood up and said " House Tytalus claims the boy!" seeing as no one else really wanted the small ugly beaten Solomon he followed Tytalus. In the coming years Solomon became more intrested in learning about the dead. He would stay up late every night ready and try to learn more staying away from all other people which also kept his mind focused. After awhile solomon finshed his gauntlet, and started looking for a covenat to join, very few Mages wanted to take him into there covenant for fear of what he could become, but then one day while he was studying he came across some notes abut a covenant that was one of the most powerful in the land some 50 years ago but no one had seen or heard from them since. Solomon was very excited at this prospect. If he could find it and get them to let him join he could study without people to bother him and he could stay away from people who really didn't seem to like him. So the next day he set off to find the covenant.
Santiago
Santiago never really new where he came from, was raised by the church,
but by the time he was ten was asked to leave and he never knew why. He
signed on a ship and traveled from place to place learning knew thingsand
seeing new sights. This where he met his mentor, a tall swarthy man who
taught Santigo the art of swordplay and Santiago became very good at it.
But nothing ever lasts, his mentor was killed in a brawl. Santiago lost
his left eye during the conflict. Since then Santiago has travelled from
country to country gambling stealing and sleeping with every nobles
daughter he can find, he is a scoundrel at heart and a damn good one too
that is until a couple of months ago when a baron actually caught him and
was almost getting ready to hang him when Santiago was able to escape. He
managed to get to swords and fought his way out of the castle (again). He
ran through the forest as fast as he could with the barons guards right on
his heels. THat was until a Flaming ball flew over the top of his head
and nailed two of the guards and stunning the rest. A small man in a dark
cloak sat not 20 yards in front of him and motioned for him to get on his
horse, Santiago wasn't stupid the guards who lived through that would go
get more, so he jumped on the horse. Solomon and Santiago have been
together ever since.
Phlome and Milnan
Though people always said that it would be the death of him, dancing
alone in the rain is a pastime in which Phlome has always reveled. It was
because he was playing in the rain during a particularly fierce lightning
storm as a young boy that his life was, ironically, spared, for as he
danced, the rest of his family was gruesomely murdered by unknown
assailants. Suddenly parentless, he was then sent to the town orphanage
where life, for the next couple years, was very difficult as Phlome was
ostracized, taunted, and bullied by most of the other kids. The only time
he was not teased was when he was in the water. Phlome seemed to have a
natural aptitude for any water related activity, and everyone marveled at
his swimming abilities. It was his superior abilities in the water which
allowed Phlome to save one of the older boys at the orphanage who had
fallen into the lake. The boy, Milnan, would surely have drown had Phlome
not dived in, and dragged him to shore. Thereafter, Phlome and Milnan
became fast friends and were inseparable. Milnan quickly took it upon
himself to become Phlome's protector, and with the older boy at his side,
Phlome was no longer bullied by anyone. They did everything together until
the strange man who lived near town, came and took Phlome from the
orphanage. Although Phlome had heard of the man, Trenabaois, who some had
said was a wizard, he had never expected to meet him. The wizard rumors
turned out to be true, Phlome soon learned, as his tutelage began. His
relationship with his mentor started out decently, but quickly degraded,
and slowly deteriorated over the next few years. His poor rapport with
Trenabaois often drove Phlome to town to drink with his buddy, Milnan, and
more often to take long swims in the nearby lake to escape his master.
Phlome spent a great deal of time in the lake and learned many of its
secrets. He did, with time, learn much of the ways of magic. When he was
finally freed from his master, Phlome immediately found his old friend,
and after settling the bar tab, went out to make his destiny.
Domongart
Domongart was born of hard-working, well-respected parents. The first few years of his life were uneventful, and early on in his life he grew comfortable with the fact that he would some day marry and take over his father's position as leader of clan Colquhoun. He worked hard at being good at everything he did, and made his parents proud. As fate would have it, however, his simple expectations of life were not to be. As his childhood progressed, Dom began to feel different. It was if his awareness of the world transcended the perception of his fellow clansmen. He began to feel as if his full potential was unrealized, and that something about him was going to change. This made him uncomfortable, and short-tempered. He began to spend more and more time alone, as other people made him nervous and irritable. One day, Dom was helping a man and two other youths his own age build a stone wall. Hearing something behind him, Dom turned, and there sat a wolf, looking at him. Dom looked into her eyes. "Come with me," they seemed to say. Giving in to an urge to follow a new path, he followed the wolf into his new life. His new companion led him deep into a distant forest, to an old but well-maintained house. The owner of the house knew Dom for what he was, for the old man was an ancient Mage. The old Mage taught Dom for many years, helping him to acknowledge his power, teaching him how to use it. Dom found that he could wield great power, but only when he was in contact with his icon, a black wolf tooth. He kept the tooth on a leather thong around his neck at all times. The old mage had many books of knowledge, and Dom studied them long and hard, trying to better master his newfound abilities. When Dom came back from gathering firewood one day, the house was gone. It hadn't disappeared; it had blown up. The only remnants were some charred pieces of wood and a few twisted metal tools. His only guess was that his master had tried some new spell that had gone awry, and had suffered the consequences. Heartbroken, he and his wolf companion headed back into the world. As he left the forest, he chanced upon a man fighting off several bandits. Dom was just about to join the fray and help the victim when it became apparent that the man needed no help. His skill with the greatsword was incredible. In only a few minutes, the swordsman had killed two of the bandits and chased off the rest. Turning and seeing Dom, he assumed a defensive position. After assuring the swordsman that he was no threat, he asked his name. The swordsman pointed to a horrid scar on his throat, and shook his head. Then he moved his hands about in a pattern that fascinated Dom. Dom asked if the man would care to travel with him, to which the man nodded his head and smiled. As time progressed, they became good friends, and Dom spent the next few months learning the sign language that was the man's only form of communication. Dom learned that the swordsman's name was Sithec, and he also learned all about Sithec's life.
Sithec
Cennedig was a master swordsman. One spring, on visit to a
druidic friend, he encountered an abandoned infant who had nearly died of
a neck injury. The druid had managed to save the infant's life, but the
child remained mute. Cennedig felt sorry for the poor orphan, and took him
in, caring for him as he grew up. Cennedig and Sithec learned to
communicate with each other using an odd form of hand signals. Cennedig
was a dragon slayer, and began teaching Sithec the art of the sword as he
matured. Sithec was a fast learner, and soon became quite good with a
blade. He was best with the greatsword, and with this weapon in his hand,
he was almost unbeatable in combat. Together, Cennedig and Sithec were an
imposing team, traveling the countryside quite extensively in search of
their prey. They defeated four dragons together in as many years. Then
came the fateful day when a misstep brought Cennedig into the open jaws of
a particularly large dragon. While the dragon was distracted with maiming
Cennedig, Sithec dealt the beast a deathblow. He was too late, however,
and Cennedig was killed. Sithec was heartbroken. The only things he had in
the world were the armor on his back and his greatsword, both gifts from
his beloved foster parent. In depression, he began to travel the land in
search of his destiny. At some point in his travels, he was accosted by
several bandits. The knaves were no match for his steel, however, and he
easily drove them off. It was then that he met Domongart and his wolf
companion, and over the course of the next few months, they became good
friends. At some point, they heard a rumor that a covenant of Magi was
looking for new blood. Interested, they headed out.
