Pralix founds the Ordo Miscellany Ordo Miscellany admitted to the Order of Hermes as House Ex Miscellanea ,granting the protection of the order to all the Non-Hermetic Magi who fought the Damhan-allaaidh.

The War of the Damhan-allaaidh

The Damhan-allaaidh is a Scottish mage (a gruagachan) who discovered principles of magic based on blood and sacrifice. This magic was more powerful than any magic in the Order. We he refused to join the order and obey it rules they took action. Flambeau and Tremere magi confronted Damhan-allaaidh at Carmac, England. He destroyed them all. He then fled to Scotland hoping to hide where the order had no power. Pralix, a magi of house Tytalus, landed in Scotland with a force of 50 Grogs and several magi. The Damhan-allaaidh ambushed them with the help of the Giants, all but Pralix and a Flambeau mage were killed. Pralix then allied allied herself with the Gruagachan who were already fighting the Damhan-allaaidh. After many defeats Pralix defeats the Damhan-allaaidh with help of the Gruagachan. Pralix guarantees the protection of the order for all those who fought in the war. The order is reluctant to admit so many non-hermetic mages. Pralix breaks from the order and Forms the Ordo Miscellany directly opposing the Order of Hermes. Rather than take on battle hardened mages, the Order admits the Ordo Miscellany to the Order of Hermes as House Ex Misecellanea. House Flambeau opposed this and many Flambeau mages traveled to Scotland to hunt down the "hedge" wizards of House Ex Micellanea. The gruagachan are anything but "hedge" wizards and after many spectacular defeats the Flambeau retreated. To this day there are fewer than 10 Flambeau mages in Scotland.

Scotland Today

The Loch Leglean Tribunal is definitely the "frontier" of the Order. Covenants and mages often war and raid each other in the open. The Code is often bent if not outright broken. The covenant of Horsingas openly raids and attacks Norman Strongholds in England. Grogs are more often soldiers than guards.

There are three main groups of people live in Scotland. The Saxons, retreating to Scotland after defeat by the Normans, the Lowlanders, or English speaking Scots, descended from the Irish and English who settled in Scotland, and the Highlanders, descended from the Scots and the Picts.

Scotland is a very magical land. There are more areas of Magical and Fairie Aura than Dominion. Fairies are very much a part of life in Scotland. Many Scots go to mass on Sunday while at the same time leaving out a bowl of porridge for the Fairies. Many "new" Christian rites are actually old Celtic ones that have been adopted by the Church

Coventants of Loch Lelegan

While there are many covenants in Scotland, there are three that hold more power than the rest.

Horsingas - A covenant founded by Saxon magi to retake Britain from the Normans. This covenant is little more than an armed camp. The only reason they haven't been wizard marched out of the order is that the only Quaesitor in Loch Leglan is a member of this covenant.

Crun Clach - This covenant was founded by the Archmage Caitlin Suil Uaine when she defeated a fairy prince at a shinty match. This covenant actually exists both in the Fay world and our own. Most of its members are of House Merinita. Caitlin is half-Fay and is possibly one of the most powerful mages in the order.

Mac Gruagach- This covenant isn't so a much a covenant as a Highland clan whose elders happen to all be mages. The elder mage is an ancient Gruagachan who founded the covenant to find a way to merge the magic of the order with that of the Gruagachan.
